I write fiction. My stories can be found in McSweeney’s Quarterly, New England Review, Ecotone, Black Warrior Review, and Zoetrope: All-Story, where I received first prize in the Short Fiction Competition. My stories have also appeared among the special mentions in the Pushcart Prize anthology and Best American Short Stories’ distinguished list. I hold a PhD in English from Rutgers, where I wrote a dissertation on modernism and literary minimalism (think Beckett). Born in Philadelphia, I grew up in Delaware County, PA, and now live with my family in California. I’m working on a novel.
